  • Review indications for pRBC and platelet transfusion in pediatric patients
Knowing how to prepare for transfusion
  • Review principles of crossmatching, consenting, and ordering blood products
Recognizing and responding to a transfusion reaction
  • Discuss how to identify, manage, & prevent common transfusion reactions
Appreciate special considerations for specific populations
  • Leukoreduction, irradiation, extended crossmatch, etc.
